Joining Upstate New York Events so far has proven to be a very wise decision for my business as a wedding/lifestyle photojournalist. Even though my business is based in Ithaca, I've made it a point to attend the Upstate New York Events meetings recently held in Ithaca, Syracuse, and Rochester.
Through these meetings, I have met and formed positive working relationships with several upscale event planners and other key players in the upstate New York hospitality business who I would not have met otherwise.
This has already resulted in attaining some excellent additional bookings (and hence, significant additional revenues) in the Rochester area for my business that I know I would not have acquired without the capable assistance of Maureen Baringer of Upstate New York Events and her excellent staff. The Upstate New York Events Web site is an international resource to promote all events, hospitality, and tourism related producers, suppliers, promoters, and educators in Upstate New York. The site includes member listings with logo, service descriptions, web site links, and photos. The Web site also features a calendar of events where members are welcome to post their events.
Convenient Networking Events…visibility for your business!Upstate New York Events meets in various regions of Upstate NY, eliminating the need to travel to metropolitan areas for networking opportunities. The events are inviting, innovative, and informative! Members promotional materials are on display at each of our regional networking events, thus promoting your business in many regions of Upstate NY!
All members attending a regional event have their business name on a welcome sign at our registration table. Members also have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the event attendees and give a brief overview of their business.
Conference/Trade Show to network and promote your business …
A statewide expo is held to showcase the Upstate events and hospitality industry to the corporate and business world, and individuals interested in our industries. The expo includes educational workshops, vendor exhibits, and a reception. The show had a successful first year in 2007 and is scheduled for October 21, 2008. Al Upstate NY Events members receive a complimentary half page ad in the expo program.
FAM Tours and Half Day Educational Seminars …Upstate New York Events is working in its second year to host regional FAM tours and half day seminars in various regions of Upstate NY.
Forum for Members…
Our online forum provides a resource for our members to ask questions or make comments regarding the events, hospitality and tourism industries in Upstate New York. Members may also recommend a service or request a service, or post job and internship listings.
E-Newsletter to keep you up to date on happenings in Upstate…
Online newsletters will be sent to all Upstate New York Events members. Our newsletter will contain featured articles on members, and current industry news.
College Component …
Upstate New York Events wants to mentor the next generation to work in our industries as we will all need well trained and educated associates in the future. Student memberships are encouraged. Colleges can become members and promote their educational programs though Web site links. We also list job and internship opportunities in our member forum. Special student pricing for all college members is offered for all regional events. Upstate New York Events is also available to consult on campus events.
Chamber/Tourism listings-promotions
We will promote regional Chambers of Commerce and Convention & Visitor Bureaus who are members of our Web site and provide a link to events in their regions.
Promotion, Event Consulting, Referral service…
We will serve as a referral service for all members and an international resource for companies, businesses, and groups hosting events in Upstate New York. Our marketing and public relations efforts for the entire Upstate Region will maximize your advertising dollars. Our professional and experienced staff is also available to coordinate and consult on events with our members. We will also exhibit at trade shows and will display our members literature at each of these shows.
